Mandvi ka Malam, is a story about Mandvi, a small coastal town in Gujarat famous for its 400-years-old wooden shipbuilding industry. The story is told through the lens of a 93-years-old Captain, Shivji Buddha Fofandi, who has spent around 85 years on ships. He became a Captain at the age of 11 and has led many voyages across Arabian Sea. Using nostalgia, the film takes the audiences through the glorious days of captain’s story and ends with a statement about Mandvi’s current conditions.
